This place is nice, and has free wi-fi, breakfast options, and a non-smoking environment. On my first stay, staff suggested great local eateries. I'm coming back for Christmas!

After messing up my reservation, I amended to one night had to call to confirm after they stopping reply when I asked to confirmed by email! Only stayed the first night not to lose out on one nights cost, even though they apparently didn't have my reservation?!? The room itself was in need of work and there were now power sockets without pulling the light plug out which was exceptionally dangerous the socket kept coming out of the wall. This is a good place as its cheap and centrally located, but if you can stay somewhere else I would!

3 minutes walk to blue line stop UIC Halsted, with trains to downtown (5 min.) and Chicago o'Hare (~40 min.). 10-15 min. foot walk to downtown, so perfect place to visit Chicago for a small price. I had a private room, shared bathroom, which was quite small (~6m^2) but just for sleeping anyway. The hostel offers free and fast WIFI.
No elevator and narrow stairs make it a bit inconvenient to carry up heavy luggage. Having only one small shared men`s bathroom for the 3rd floor is a bit short during busy morning hours.

I really enjoyed the location. Close to trains & buses. Staff was very friendly & helpful. The new paint job looks wonderful. The towels smelled very clean & fresh. Plus they let me stay an extra night, no problem.

Nothing, really nothing!
All in this hostel is very, very shabby and dirty. It stinks! The men's "bathroom" very small (even no place to hold your dry clothes) and dirty. [womens bathroom reasonble] Really too expensive for what you get! This is a one $ place. Not a good thing for Booked.net to offer a hostel like this!

I liked the updated room and the quiet on the thrid floor. Also the deck staff were very helpful and friendly. I could walk to the attractions that I wanted to go to.
It was a bit of a climb up four floors for a 70 year old guy, but I made it ok. Would recommend an updated carpet on the stairs. Everything else was updated. Thanks.

There's a cool lounge area to chill out in and a lovely courtyard for some fresh air. Just a heads up, the lighting in the room was a bit finicky at times, but it didn't bother me much 😊

The receptionist was a very nice girl and really helpful
During the breakfast session, staff are horrible, they stand there keep looking at you to make sure you leave soon or you clean your own stuff, very bad attitude, poor breakfast, bloody cold eggs!

I chose Parthenon for its budget-friendly rates during my first Chicago Marathon. The staff welcomed me warmly, easing my worries about leaving my valuables while I was out. They even let me use the computer to print my boarding pass after I lost it. The dorm-style setup felt comforting, with clean rooms and a nice kitchen. I loved how quiet it was despite being in a bustling area. A short walk brought me to a great view of the skyline, which I appreciated. Ventilating the rooms better would improve comfort, as it felt a bit musty at times. Still, a solid experience overall, especially for the price.

I liked, that the tv was not in the room, so nobody would disturb you with the tv, when you needed/wanted to sleep. You could go to an own kitchen area and eat what and whenever you wanted to without losing any more money than you would have at home. You had your own key to the room and building. The Greek restaurant beside the hostel can serve glutenfree foods, because the owner needs to eat glutenfree. The owner is the husband of the hostel's owner.
I was allergic to something in my bed. There are two possibilities, either they washed the sheets with Arm & Hammer, which I'm allergic to and this could happen in any other hotel, too. Or they didn't change the sheets at all and there was somebody in there with a cat at home and still had hair and dander stuck on their clothes, when they went to bed.

It's cheap, but enough for sleeping few hours a night, I'll return there.
Well this is a hostel, so you might have to wait to take a shower or go to restrooms

The location is fantastic, allowing easy access to public transport and attractions. Staff were friendly and the breakfast provided was decent, featuring the essentials. The common areas could use a better clean and the bathrooms need updates. It worked well for a budget stay.
